A business owner thought networking wasn’t working.
She was doing plenty of networking. The problem was that she didn’t have a clear offer to sell the people she was meeting.
That changes what you fix.
You’re not starting from scratch.
You have clients, customers, offers, experience and plenty to bloody do.
But somewhere between the amount you’re putting into the business and the amount you’re getting back from it, something isn’t working hard enough.
Maybe you already have a theory about what it is.
Maybe you have several.
Maybe you’ve got absolutely no idea.
In Control is 90 days of having me inside the business with you, working out what’s actually going on and helping you decide what needs to change.

You could change your prices.
Launch something new.
Get more leads.
Sell more.
Change your messaging.
Go back to previous customers.
Cut an offer.
Build a funnel.
Hire somebody.
Automate something.
The problem is that doing the wrong one still takes your time and money.
And when you’re already flat out, adding another project because it might be the answer is not particularly appealing.
I’m not going to decide what your problem is before I’ve seen the business.

I get properly into what’s happening.
That can mean looking at your numbers, customers, sales, offers, pricing, capacity, behaviour or whatever else turns out to matter.
I’ll ask questions.
I’ll probably ask another question when you thought we’d finished talking about it.
I’ll look at the evidence.
I’ll point out when something doesn’t add up.
And then I’ll give you my judgement about what I think actually deserves your attention.
Sometimes that means confirming the thing you already suspected.
Sometimes it means discovering you’ve been trying to solve entirely the wrong problem.
Either way, you get my judgement, not a template that produces the same recommendation for everybody.

Another was charging around £90 an hour.
When we worked backwards from what she wanted the business to make and the time she could realistically sell, she needed to generate roughly £454 per chargeable hour.
That isn’t solved by squeezing another client into Thursday afternoon.
Another assumed a templated service should cost less because it had become easier to deliver.
The client was still getting the value.
She had simply got better at doing the work.
Efficiency is not a particularly compelling reason to give yourself a pay cut.
This is why In Control lasts 90 days.
We might work out fairly quickly that your pricing needs to change, an offer needs to go, there’s money sitting in your existing customer base or your sales behaviour needs attention.
Great.
Then real life happens.
A new lead appears.
Somebody asks for a discount.
A client wants something unusual.
An offer performs differently from how we expected.
You need to quote for something.
You change something and get new information back.
The useful bit is that I already know the business when the next decision lands.
You don’t have to explain the whole thing from scratch to somebody new or try to work out what the new information means on your own.
You still make the decision. You just do not have to make it with only the view available from inside the business.
For 90 days, I’m properly in it with you.

We use them for whatever the business needs at that point. There isn’t a predetermined lesson plan to work through.
For the decisions and questions that do not politely wait for our next call.
If the question needs numbers, customer data, pricing maths or some digging around, I’ll do the digging.
So when something changes, we’re not starting again every time.
Your business already makes money, but the amount of work and the amount you’re making don’t feel remotely proportionate.
There are several things you could change and you’re not sure which deserves your attention.
You want somebody willing to question your assumptions rather than automatically agreeing with your diagnosis.
You’re prepared to show me what is actually happening in the business.
You want help making decisions, not another course to work through.
You want me to run the business for you.
You mainly need somebody to implement systems, automation or marketing.
You want a fixed framework where I can tell you exactly what we’ll do in weeks 1–12 before I’ve looked at the business.
You want somebody to make the decisions for you.
£3,300 + VAT
for 90 days.
You can pay in three instalments or spread the cost over six months.
No.
I need enough information to understand what is happening, but you do not need a beautiful dashboard or years of pristine spreadsheets waiting for me.
Part of my job is deciding what is actually worth looking at.
Not in the usual sense.
I am not working through a generic coaching programme or asking you to find all the answers yourself.
You are hiring me for my external view and judgement. I will ask questions, challenge assumptions, examine the business and tell you what I think.
You remain responsible for the decisions and for running the business.
No.
Sales may be the problem. They may not be.
We might end up talking about leads, follow-up, conversion, offers, pricing, customers, capacity, the economics of an offer or which opportunity deserves your time.
The work depends on what is actually stopping this particular business making more money.
That's fine.
Sometimes the useful work is testing whether your diagnosis is right. Sometimes you know exactly what is wrong but need challenge or judgement around what to do about it.
You do not have to arrive confused.
No.
In Control is advisory. I help you work out what needs changing, think through the decision and decide what happens next.
That might lead to work for you, your team or another specialist.
The point is knowing which work is worth doing before time and money disappear into it.
Because one conversation can tell us a lot about the business, but the business does not stop changing once we have had it.
The value of working together over time is that I know the context when the next pricing question, lead, proposal, offer decision or unexpected problem appears.
You need to know what this business needs.
What is actually causing the gap between the amount of work you’re putting in and the money you’re getting back?
What deserves your attention?
What can wait?
And when something changes, what do you do next?
That’s what we spend the 90 days working out together.
